I’m trying to switch my creator account to private, but I can’t find the option anywhere in my settings. I know they used to have to be public, but has that changed or am I just missing something?
No—Instagram creator accounts still need to be public, so the private account option won’t appear while your account is set to Creator. If you want privacy, go to Settings and privacy → Account type and tools → Switch account type → Personal account, then you should be able to turn on Private account.

Hey existingclerk, yeah, Instagram did loosen up their rules - creator accounts CAN go private now, but you gotta toggle it through the “Account” section under “Settings” and then click on “Account type” to make the switch! It’s a bit hidden, but it’s there!
